This book helped by showing us great camping throughout NewMexico and because of this book we had a great summer trip. -linden 11 yrs. I couldn’t agree with my son more, and have gone on to recommend this book to all my friends. The different sites were diverse, exactly as described, and super special. Thank you!
Good reference tool, July 29, 2010

After receiving this book for Christmas, I have used it extensively this spring and summer. Overall I would consider it a good reference tool for finding potential campgrounds. While it is very weak on eastern NM, it does have good, but not necessarily up to date, information about the other portions of the state. For example, none of the campgrounds I went to had any prohibitions on loud portable stereos, and quiet hours were not strictly enforced, so you were at the mercy of other campers. However, at 2 of the recommended campgrounds my family were the only campers there. JOY!!! Use it as a guide, not a Bible, and it will prove quite handy.

We used this once already, and found it very helpful. Directions are detailed, and the description of the campsite was accurate. It’s not a complete guide in any way though, so if you want to know where all the campsites are, this will not tell you. We will keep using it though.
Just what we needed. Planning week long tent trip and particularly needed elevation & road conditions. Very well written and full of great inside info.

CampCoverFINAL.qxdAdventures In Camping  is available online and has received many great reviews. One of the book’s editors said she had never gone camping but this book made her want to go!

Monte Parr’s Adventure’s in Camping: A Resource Guide is a great buy if you’re looking for an easy read that will open the doors of the wilderness. Monte relates both practical camping know-how with endearing personal stories to illustrate how simple and fun camping can be. If you want to get the family together and take a short drive to another world, then I highly recommend Adventures in Camping. It’s faaaaaaaantastic!
